Installing the Shaloz Plugin
Get the plugin installed in your WordPress site in just a few minutes!

Two Ways to Install
Option A: From WordPress (Easiest)
- Search and install from WordPress dashboard
- One-click installation

- Recommended for most users
Option B: Manual Upload
- Download ZIP file
- Upload to WordPress
- Good if Option A doesn't work
- Same plugin, different method

Option A: Install from WordPress (Recommended)
Step-by-Step:
1. Log Into WordPress:
- Go to your WordPress admin dashboard
- Usually: yoursite.com/wp-admin
- Enter your username and password
2. Go to Plugins:
- Left sidebar → Click "Plugins"
- Click "Add New"
3. Search for Shaloz:
- Search box (top right) → Type "Shaloz for WooCommerce"
- Press Enter
- Look for the Shaloz plugin in results
4. Install the Plugin:
- Click "Install Now" button
- WordPress downloads and installs (takes 10-30 seconds)
- Button changes to "Activate"
5. Activate the Plugin:
- Click "Activate"
- Plugin is now active!
- You'll see a success message
6. See Welcome Screen:
- After activation, you'll see Shaloz welcome notice
- Click "Configure Shaloz Shipping" to start setup
- Or continue reading to set up manually
Done! Plugin is installed and ready to configure.

Option B: Manual Upload
When to Use This:
- WordPress plugin search not working
- Want to install specific version
- Hosting restrictions on automatic installs
Step-by-Step:
1. Download Plugin ZIP:
- Get the plugin ZIP file
- From: Shaloz website or WordPress.org
- Save to your computer
- File name: shaloz-for-woocommerce.zip
2. Go to WordPress Plugins:
- WordPress admin → Plugins → Add New
- Click "Upload Plugin" button (top of page)
3. Upload ZIP File:
- Click "Choose File"
- Select the shaloz-for-woocommerce.zip file
- Click "Install Now"
- WordPress uploads and installs
4. Activate:
- Click "Activate Plugin"
- Success message appears
- Plugin now active!

After Installation
What Happens Next:
Welcome Notice:
- You'll see a notice at top of WordPress admin
- Says: "Shaloz for WooCommerce is almost ready! Configure shipping settings to get started."
- Click "Configure Settings" to begin setup
Plugin Appears in Menu:
- Left sidebar → New "Shaloz" menu item may appear
- Some versions show under WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping
WooCommerce Shipping:
- Plugin adds "Shaloz Shipping" as new shipping method
- You'll configure this next

Verifying Installation
How to Check It's Installed:
Method 1: Check Plugins List:
- WordPress → Plugins → Installed Plugins
- Look for "Shaloz for WooCommerce"
- Should say "Active" under the name
- Shows version number
Method 2: Check Shipping Methods:
- WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping
- Click a shipping zone
- Click "Add shipping method"
- "Shaloz Shipping" should appear in dropdown
If You See It: Successfully Installed!

Updating the Plugin
Automatic Updates:
- WordPress notifies you when updates available
- Dashboard → Updates → Check "Shaloz for WooCommerce"
- Click "Update Now"
- Plugin updates automatically

Troubleshooting Installation
Problem: Can't Find Plugin in Search
Fixes:
- Make sure you're logged into WordPress as Administrator
- Check spelling: "Shaloz for WooCommerce"
- Try: Plugins → Add New → Author search → "Shaloz"
- Use Manual Upload method instead (Option B above)
Problem: "Installation Failed"
Possible Causes:
- Insufficient permissions
- PHP version too old
- WordPress version too old
- Plugin conflict
Fixes:
- Check you're Administrator (not Editor or other role)
- Verify WordPress 5.8+ (Dashboard → Updates shows version)
- Verify WooCommerce 6.0+ installed and active
- Temporarily disable other plugins, try again
- Contact your web host
- Contact help.shaloz.com for assistance
Problem: Can't Activate Plugin
Error Messages:
- "This plugin requires WooCommerce to be installed and activated"
- Fix: Install WooCommerce first, then try again
- "Your PHP version is too old"
- Fix: Ask web host to upgrade PHP to 7.4+
- "Plugin generated 500 error"
- Fix: Enable WordPress debug mode, check error logs, contact help.shaloz.com
Problem: Plugin Activated But Nothing Happens
Fixes:
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Shipping
- Click on a shipping zone
- Try adding "Shaloz Shipping" method manually
- Clear WordPress cache (if using caching plugin)
- Refresh page

After Installation Checklist
Before moving to configuration, verify:
- Plugin shows "Active" in Plugins list
- "Shaloz Shipping" appears in shipping methods dropdown
- WooCommerce is installed and working
- WordPress and WooCommerce versions meet requirements
- No error messages on activation
All Good? Move to Configuration →

Uninstalling (If Needed)
To Remove Plugin:
Deactivate First:
- Plugins → Installed Plugins
- Find "Shaloz for WooCommerce"
- Click "Deactivate"
Then Delete:
- After deactivating, "Delete" link appears
- Click "Delete"
- Confirm deletion
- Plugin removed
What Gets Deleted:
- Plugin files
- Settings
What Stays:
- Your orders (WooCommerce keeps these)
- Shaloz portal data (not affected)
