Checking Service Availability

For Businesses:

Method 1: Rate Calculator

  1. Log into Business Portal at portal.shaloz.com
  2. Go to Rate Calculator
  3. Enter destination ZIP code
  4. If service available: You'll see rate breakdown with distance and cost
  5. If NOT available: You'll see "Service not available in ZIP code XXXXX"

Method 2: Test WooCommerce Checkout

  1. Install Shaloz plugin (in Sandbox mode)
  2. Create test order
  3. Enter shipping address with ZIP code
  4. If Shaloz serves that area: Shaloz shipping option appears
  5. If not served: Shaloz option won't display (customer sees other methods)

For Customers:

  • When shopping on stores using Shaloz
  • Enter full shipping address at checkout
  • If Shaloz serves your ZIP code, it appears as shipping option
  • If not, you'll only see other shipping methods

For Drivers:

  • Download the driver app
  • Create account
  • App will show service areas near you
  • Only available routes in your area will appear

ZIP Code Based:

  • Service availability determined by ZIP code
  • Each pickup location has defined coverage zones
  • Coverage radiates from pickup locations

How Coverage Works:

  • Businesses set up pickup locations (pickup locations)
  • Each center can define shipment zones (ZIP codes served)
  • Drivers in those areas accept deliveries
  • The more drivers and centers, the wider the coverage

  1. Add additional pickup locations in new locations
  2. Define shipment zones for each center
  3. Set coverage radius

Setting Up Shipment Zones:

  1. Go to Business Portal → Shipment Zones
  2. Select pickup location
  3. Add ZIP codes you want to serve (comma-separated)
  4. Activate zone
  5. Now customers in those ZIP codes can choose Shaloz at checkout

For Drivers:

Don't See Deliveries in Your Area?

  • Coverage depends on local business demand
  • As businesses add pickup locations, more routes appear
  • Check back regularly as coverage expands

International Shipping

Current Status:

  • Shaloz currently operates only within the United States
  • No international deliveries at this time
  • Cannot ship to Canada, Mexico, or other countries

Future Plans:

  • International expansion planned

Rural vs. Urban Coverage

Urban Areas:

  • Typically wider coverage
  • More drivers available
  • Faster delivery times
  • Competitive rates

Suburban Areas:

  • Good coverage in most markets
  • Reliable service
  • Standard delivery times

Rural Areas:

  • Limited coverage currently
  • Expanding as driver network grows
  • May have higher minimum delivery fees
  • Contact support to request coverage in your area

Coverage Limitations

What Determines If Your Area Is Covered:

  1. Pickup Location Proximity
  2. Must be within reasonable distance (usually 20-50 miles)
  3. Longer distances = higher costs
  4. Driver Availability
  5. Need active drivers in the area
  6. Peak hours have more drivers
  7. Shipment Zone Configuration
  8. Business must add your ZIP code to their shipment zones

Why Shaloz Might Not Show at Checkout:

  • ZIP code not in business's shipment zones
  • No pickup location within range
  • Insufficient driver coverage
  • Service not yet launched in that region

Requesting Coverage

Businesses:

If you want to deliver to areas not currently served:

  1. Add pickup locations closer to target areas
  2. Configure shipment zones to include ZIP codes
  3. Contact support for help with coverage planning

Customers:

If Shaloz doesn't deliver to your area:

  • Ask the business if they can add your ZIP code
  • Check back periodically as coverage expands

Drivers:

Want to drive in your area?

  • Sign up via driver app
  • We'll notify you when routes are available
  • Help us expand by referring local businesses

Checking Coverage for Your Business

Before You Sign Up:

  1. Identify your pickup location location (where drivers pick up packages)
  2. List the ZIP codes where your customers are located
  3. Use Rate Calculator (after signup) to test each ZIP code
  4. If coverage is limited, consider adding multiple pickup locations

After You Sign Up:

  1. Add pickup locations
  2. Configure shipment zones
  3. Test coverage with Rate Calculator
  4. Adjust zones as needed
